WHAT IS THE A.C.T.S. MINISTRY?
Accepting the Call To Serve
The A.C.T.S. Ministry is designed to provide individuals, families, and communities with the opportunity to give back to the camp. Hanging Rock Christian Assembly, Inc. was built on the hard work and faith of volunteers. As the camp continues to grow, so does our need for assistance. The goal of the A.C.T.S. Ministry is to build up our volunteer base so that we may be able to keep up with the growth of the camp. Although there are no limitations on how volunteers can serve the camp, there are four main areas of service where help is needed.
WHERE CAN YOU SERVE? Kitchen/Cookies
This is a great chance for you to help out the camp cook! Volunteers will be needed throughout the summer to assist with simple food preparation, serving meals, and cleaning up the kitchen and dining room after meals. Shifts are 11:00 am to 2:00 pm and 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm. We are also in need of cookies for the last day of each residential camp.Grounds/Maintenance
For those of you who enjoy getting a little dirty, boy do we have a job for you! Volunteers are needed to help with building maintenance, landscaping, painting, and general up-keep.Check-in/Registration
Volunteers who help during Camp Check-in and Registration will be placed throughout the camp to direct campers and parents to where they need to be. Volunteers will also assist with luggage and parking, and help in the canteen/general store.Special Projects
As the camp continues to grow, so does our need for renovations and construction. Some special projects that have been completed, or are currently being worked on, are: cabin construction for the new wilderness area, new roofing on the dorms, and new heating and air-conditioning installed in the dorms.
HOW DO YOU BECOME A PART OF THE A.C.T.S. MINISTRY?
Simply fill out our A.C.T.S. Ministry Information Form (pdf format) and return it to the camp. This provides the Volunteer Coordinator with the necessary information to place you in service areas where you would be most comfortable. You may choose any of the four main service areas and list the days and times you will be available to serve. The Volunteer Coordinator will then contact you with available service projects.Questions? Contact the camp office.
