Changing Lives is an ongoing story . . .

Changing lives is an ongoing story at Hanging Rock. Through diverse programs and special events, we have seen many life-changing decisions made. Youth and adults have made decisions to follow Christ's lead throughout life. God is still touching hearts and changing lives in this very difficult time in history.

The founding fathers established Hanging Rock Christian Assembly Inc. in 1946. They worked, prayed, and gave so God's word could be delivered to receptive hearts on these grounds. The work of the founding fathers continues today through the many teachers, ministers, and volunteers who provide leadership for our programs and special events.

Several years ago, due to crowded facilities and a lack of "the right" facility for certain types of programs, it became evident that a new muti-purpose building was needed. Hanging Rock's Board of Directors envisioned a facility that would allow for:

New summer programs
Indoor concert facilities
Indoor recreation for winter programs
New opportunities for additional winter retreats
Additional events for Project Axis
Leadership conferences and workshop space

Limitless opportunities would truly abound in the diverse programs and additional ministries we could provide with this new building. Programs and ministries that would continue to change lives.

Building Today for Tomorrow and Eternity . . .

In May of 2002, construction on the new Leadership Development Center began. In November, friends and church families joined us to celebrate its completion in an Open House & Dedication Ceremony led by Dr. Wayne Shaw of Lincoln Christian College & Seminary.

When the Board of Directors began the planning process, three bids were obtained. The Board decided to go with a steel building, built by Tecton Construction Management Company. The cost of constructing the 13,000 sq. ft. building was $624,000. With additional costs (such as interest, furnishings, equipment, landscaping and sidewalks), the estimated total cost for the building is around $750,000. Our hopes & prayers are that the building can be paid for in 5 years.

By offering additional classrooms, an indoor recreation area for winter months, and a climate-controlled area for large worship gatherings, the Leadership Development Center is already helping us to continue with our focus of changing lives. This summer alone saw 3,600 people ministered to in the new LDC.

Fulfilling The Vision . . .

We need your help to fulfill the vision of Changing Lives. We are asking all friends of Hanging Rock to partner with us in this adventure of faith. In addition, we encourage all churches who use HRCA to invest. The objective of this campaign is to accumulate commitments for financial support to be given on a monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly or other basis for three years. Systematic giving allows for an individual to plan for their gift over time, and can increase the potential of giving a larger gift. A commitment to the 'Building on the Rock' campaign should only represent that portion which is over-and-above what you are presently giving to Hanging Rock. This will enable the camp to calculate the "new" income it will receive for the LDC.

How do I know how much to commit?
Your commitment should be a spiritual decision and should be made only after prayerful consideration. God may lead you into making a commitment from a source that is not yet known to you. Your commitment is an adventure of faith.

Can I make a one-time cash contribution?
Yes, we welcome all the financial help you are willing and able to give. However, the campaign is for a three-year period. Systematic giving allows for planning your gift.
